2010 SOCCER VISITORS AND SOCCER ANTHEM

Yip, it's out that some 450 000 visitors are expected next year during the soccer world cup. I believe that this figure is somewhat conservative and should be more around 500 000!

Interesting in this regard is that statistics show that 250 000 soccer fans follow each world cup, no matter where.

The FIFA family, as they are called, alone are looking for about 120 000 beds. This does not include the 'normal' soccer fan out there eager to watch some world cup action as well.

Well, all you soccer fanatics! Something for you to learn for next year:

The Soccer Anthem of South Africa

Shosholoza, shosholoza (Moving fast, moving strong)
Ku lezontaba (Through those mountains)
Stimela siphuma e South Africa (Train from South Africa)
Wenu yabaleka (You are leaving)
Wenu yabaleka (You are leaving)
Ku lezontaba (Through those mountains)
Stimela siphuma e South Africa (Train from South Africa)

(The song was found on the Cape Town magazine's website)

Right, when you have learnt the soccer anthem and you have purchased your vuvuzela first thing when arriving in South Africa, you are ready for plenty action and fun at the soccer games!! (Remember ear plugs if your ears are sensitive).
